Michelsen is the oldest watch shop in Reykjavik. Founded in 1909, the company has always been in the Michelsen family, currently in its fourth generation. For over 100 years, Michelsen’s watches have sold and serviced many of the world’s most famous watch brands. As one of the most iconic and respected shops in the city, it welcomes many visitors everyday. When remodeling the shop, the family wanted a floor that would stand the test of time, as their watches do, so Hydrocork was the perfect choice – a classic and performant wood visual, with all the benefits of cork.
